Windows 7 Discussion

As most of you know, Windows 7 is finished and is now in "RTM" builds (Release To Manufacturers) Which means as of now it is just a few months until the retail release of the os.

Microsoft said the Os should be released sometime around the holiday shopping season, and later corrected it for October 22nd 2009. However I think the final build will be leaked as early as august/september 2009.

I am currently running build 7201 (RTM leaked)

Windows 7 is Ok... its just Vista but finished LOL.. nah I dunno I would get technical but, I don't have the effort in me really. Isn't the Windows Server 7 RC newer than your version? I've only really ran it in VirtualBox as a virtual machine tbh but, nonetheless it does seem pretty smooth.

7 and 7 retail are at the same build, the build that I have won't be released to the public until late July/early August. And then Final October 22nd :D

Actually, Windows 7 was written from scratch. Any elements which were in Vista are purely incidental, or useful ofcourse. Quite a good decision to make, as they hadn't done anything like that since NT.

Thats interesting. So Microsoft aren't being lazy on 7 :D

Hrmm so hopefully 7 will be less vulnerable.

They aren't being lazy, but it was not built from scratch as one of the members above mentioned. It was a build on from Vista, Vista's Kernel = 6.0.6001
7's kernel = 6.1.7201 :a25::a28:

You can add me on MSN and I can send you the private torrent file if you want, it downloaded very fast at 400-600 KB/s

Also, if you want, I can make a "How to install Windows 7" tutorial if you like.
