Nice tutorial, though I'll still stick to easier programs like GIMP and Paint because my computer (laptop) can't handle Photoshop.

IMO gimp is better than PS.

This tutorial is nice. The overall outcome looks very comicbook-ish.

Gimp lacks too many features that Photoshop has. I use another program (Artgem) to satisfy my GFX needs with a combination of Paint and sometimes GIMP too.
Not many people would agree with you that GIMP is that good. Its good, but not better than Photoshop.
