A Generation Lost.
 

A Genertaion Lost is a project of mine. I will be writing a series of essays much like what Emmerson did during the 1700's.

The inspiration for writing "A Generation Lost" came from the incidents of November 12, 2008 in which a girl shot and killed another girl at my school (can be found here.)

The series of essays that I will be writing will be specifically about how this generation has gone into a path of ignorance and destruction, how the people within society are too caught up in their own protection, their own selfish greed as to help out another, such as the whole "snitches gets stitches" mindset many kids have nowadays and played a major role in the shooting. Yes people knew of this shooting a week before it happened and on the day it happened because the girl sent out text messages to all her friends saying what she was going to do but no one acted. I personally knew none of the people involved in this incident but it affects me as an intellectual person specifically because the actions taken today will affect the generation of tomorrow, but unfortunately this generation is as what I stated before but a generation lost, lost of its morales, lost of its common sense, and quite frankly it's such a shame that humanity after so many thousands of years of evolution and revolutions that we have not matured as a race at all but instead just are digressing to our caveman ways.

You must have a lot of patience to do essays willingly. I personally find them frustrating to write.

I love writing essays pertaining to things that I have a good argument against. The first essay will consist of today's mentality where the majority of today's youth center their lives around trying to be a "thug" or a "goon" or just try to conform to the current fad as to the point where they let every little outside element effect them and their decisions.

I'll read them, how could someone SHOOT someone? PURE EVIL!!

I'm sorry that this has happened in your school Envy, and that you have taken a personal feeling to this. Yes i do agree with you this generation of people are barbariac and uncivilized. I personally think we should all have to go to some sort of liberation camp or boot camp.

Another thing is, where was security? Why were the school gates open and unsupervised? Where were the administrators? Why did the shooter have to run off campus and have enough time to call the police on the person she just killed? Why didn't anyone call for help? "Snitches gets Stitches!" BULLSHIT! Stitches is nothing compared to another human life.

That's a sad story. You're right, a lot of kids are violent idiots.
