I need your guys's opinions

Ok I have about $280 dollars, I want to buy an itouch. So, I looked through the prices and it appears the 1st generation itouch with 16 gigs is $220 + tax. I then saw a 2nd generation itouch with 8 gigs at the same price. Can someone tell me if it is worth getting the 2nd generation 8 gig or the 1st generation 16 gig. I will not get a 2nd generation 16 gig, it is to much money.
