I have tried getting FTed out of the Falador bank (safe zone), however my FT wasn't that good. The FT I used wasnt good becuase I died in a cutscene, causing me to spawn in Falador bank, then getting immediately FTed back to the cutscene location. Because the FT was immediate, there was no time for the game to set it to a safe zone for my character so the safe zone did not stick after the FT.
I also tried walking out of a safezone with an interface up (Yes nooby I know). It doesn't work, it appears that you are in a safe zone outside of the safe zone but other players can still attack you which exit's your interface and switches the icon to a dangerous zone.

Safe zones on pvp worlds are area effects not player effects.
