Eh, there is always possibilities of things being recreated.
If they fixed the way the runes went into a familiar like someone said in this thread, then I don't believe it will happen again.

Nope , this was done after Tainted Ones smuggle and runes just dissapear

Yes with this method you still can get familiar in most places , however I think there are different checks for familiar because on some places you cant go with it..
