How does someone have a skill?
Their sailing level is above 1 but only shows in their skill total?
They are able to train sailing still in these "hidden" worlds?

It shows up in their skill(s) list...
His sailing was like 5 when they changed the links *it was changed every Thursday or something like that*
Yes, but now they are almost impossible to find.
