Well if you could smugle items into stealing creations, and you kill the one with the stuff (or pickpocket) maybe you could get the items and then leave?

To be honest I think most people have thaught of this

Chances are it wouldn't work as when you leave, what happens to the clay items? They disappear so I would guess same applies for the items you smuggle in
